Manifesto // Issue 01 // Est. 2017
Outcasts building the future. A private collective of independent designers, engineers, and rebels reshaping digital craft since 2017.
01 — Founding Story
In the spring of 2017, five designers and engineers left a midtown agency on the same Friday afternoon. They took a folding table, a secondhand projector, and a lease on a converted warehouse at 141 North 7th Street, Studio 4B, in Williamsburg. The lease was signed in pencil. The first piece of furniture was a steel shelving unit they welded themselves over a weekend.
What they did not bring with them: a creative director title, a client services team, a sales pipeline, or any appetite for the work that had made them tired. What they did bring: a shared belief that the agency model — billable hours, layered account management, deck-first thinking, work hidden behind NDAs — was structurally incapable of producing the kind of software and design they wanted their names attached to.
The first commission came from a former client, paid in two installments and a case of wine. The second came from a stranger who had seen the first. Within eighteen months, the warehouse was shared by fourteen people. Within four years, by twenty-four. None of them have left.
That is the entire founding document. The rest of this page is the record of what those four beliefs have produced.
02 — Anti-NDA Policy, in full.
Every project the Guild ships is accompanied by a public case study on this site, published within ninety days of launch.
We hold an explicit anti-NDA policy with our clients. This is not a slogan, and it is not negotiable. The terms:
Adopted 2017. Reviewed annually. Unchanged since adoption.
03 — Credentials Wall
A short, dated record. Nothing here is aspirational; every line below is a published citation.

2022 / 23 / 24
Founding members on stage at Config 2022 (San Francisco), Awwwards Amsterdam 2023, and OFFF Barcelona 2024. Talks archived in full.
We did not start a studio to be comfortable. We started it because the work we wanted to make could not survive inside a place that billed for it.
04 — Step Inside the Workshop
When you request a Guild Intake, you will hear back from the Guildmaster within two business days. The first conversation is a scoping call — forty-five minutes, no slides, no proposal. If there is a fit, we will name the two or three Guildmates we would put on the work and the shape of the engagement. If there is not, we will say so plainly and point you to someone we trust.
